What really gives you the right to vote? Is it because you are an American citizen, and that is one of your rights? I really don't know the reasons. In the dictionary "vote," means a formal expression of opinion or choice, either positive or negative, made by an individual or body of individuals. So does that means anybody can vote? My whole life I was brought up not to vote, never believed in it, or never could have. My parents never voted, they didn't vote because they were not allowed. Maybe because of this reason is why I believe I did not vote this year. My parents were not allowed to vote, so what makes me so different that I am allowed to vote, just because I was born an American Citizen? I don't see that as being so important. I also never really made time to educate myself with the political part of this country. When ever we speak about these kinds of topics in class I feel like I have nothing to say, because in reality I don't.
